Spelling

We slowed spelling right down and zoomed in on the specific skills our students needed most! Each week, students received a new set of words matched to their learning level, giving them the opportunity to practise and build confidence throughout the week.

We kicked off each week with a focused, explicit spelling lesson, exploring a particular spelling component before turning students into word detectives! They searched for words with the focus pattern, investigated what they noticed, and worked together to uncover the spelling rule. Across the week, students then put their learning into action through three engaging spelling activities to consolidate their new skills.
