Author's Study - Jackie French

In Term 3, the Grade 3/4 students completed an author’s study unit based on Jackie French. We focused on natural disasters by reading her books Fire, Flood, Cyclone, Pandemic and Earthquake. The students loved learning how Jackie weaves descriptive language and vivid imagery into her books to engage the reader’s senses. The students also wrote their own Jackie French inspired stories, focussing on a natural disaster and using a range of lovely figurative language. It was wonderful to share their hard work in our Writing Celebration.
