PRINCIPAL WELCOME
At Woori Yallock Primary School we provide a comprehensive curriculum, personalised learning, exceptional teaching and high expectations. We ensure that when students graduate, all opportunities in life are open to them.
Our school has doubled in its student population in the past 9 years and currently has 376 students. This growth is due to the improved teaching methods and outstanding academic results. Our parents now feel pride and confident in their local school. The school continues to dominate the Yarra Valley Schools Public Speaking Competition which it has won the past six years in a row. (If you would like to see some examples of our students in action, please click on the student life tab)
Woori Yallock Primary School provides a safe, secure, challenging and stimulating learning environment. We specifically target individual learning needs and demonstrate excellence in all of the key learning areas. The school has invested in ICT resources which includes iPads and chrome books. The technology is used to support our engaging research based teaching programs.
We have a number of innovative intervention programs in place for both literacy and numeracy that are highly effective and popular with our students. These programs include, pre lit, levelled literacy intervention, and QuickSmart literacy and numeracy. We ensure that students do not fall through the gaps. We also cater for students that need to be challenged and extended.
Our emphasis on educating the whole child is demonstrated by being a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program school and that we also offer electives that come from ideas formulated by our Junior School Council.
Our school values are ‘High Expectations and Respect’, while our school motto is 'Take Pride At All Times'.
One of my favourite things to do in my role as Principal is to show prospective parents our great students, teachers and school. If you would like a tour, click on the school tour tab of our website or contact us on 5964 7258 and one our friendly administration staff will book a tour for you.
