In reading, we have been working on the different strategies readers use to support their reading, such as pointing to words, looking at pictures, and listening for the first sound. We have been enjoying a range of books, including Mrs Wishy Washy (a fan favourite), Brown Bear, Brown Bear, and The Cookie Jar.
We have also been exploring reading comprehension strategies and the different ways we can think while reading. We have practised predicting, making connections to texts, summarising, synthesising (how our thinking changes as we read), and visualising.
We have been working hard on our reading goals, and it has been wonderful to see students already achieving them!

Friend told me Marble Sort was “surprisingly decent” and that undersold it by a lot. It’s not flashy. It just has a sharp little loop. Top supply trays. Middle conveyor. Bottom color boxes. Your job is to keep space alive long enough to finish sets and clear the clutter. Clean system. Very easy to get weirdly attached to.
