5/6 Camp - Wilsons Prom

Updated: Apr 30

A trip to Wilsons Prom is hard to get wrong—but if you’re imagining a quiet, relaxing getaway, this wasn’t that. Our Year 5/6 camp was packed from start to finish with adventure, challenge, and a whole lot of fun.

From the moment we arrived at Wilsons Promontory National Park, students were immersed in the incredible natural beauty of the Prom. Towering granite mountains, sweeping beaches, and native wildlife set the scene for an unforgettable few days outdoors.

One of the highlights of the camp was the hike to the summit of Mount Oberon. Students challenged themselves as they made the steady climb to the top, supporting one another along the way. The reward was well worth the effort—breathtaking panoramic views that stretched across the coastline and beyond.

The days were filled with activity. Students explored walking trails, spotted wombats in their natural habitat, and even took part in surf lessons, stepping outside their comfort zones and building confidence in the water. Each experience offered new opportunities for teamwork, resilience, and connection.

Evenings were just as memorable. After enjoying delicious breakfasts to start the day and hearty dinners to refuel, students relaxed together at an outdoor cinema under the stars, with a visit from the friendly wombat - a perfect way to wind down after busy days of adventure.

Throughout the camp, students demonstrated independence, courage, and a willingness to try new things. Whether it was tackling a challenging hike, catching a wave, or simply sharing laughs with friends, every moment contributed to lasting memories.

Our Year 5/6 camp to Wilsons Prom was more than just a trip—it was an opportunity for students to grow, connect, and experience the outdoors in a truly special way.
