How amazing is Poetry? 3/4 students are discovering just that! We have been delving into the different styles of poetry (free verse, cinquain, diamante) and the tools that can be used to make the poetry interesting (alliteration, rhyme, metaphor and simile). Students are demonstrating a fantastic understanding of using emotion, feelings and the world around them to express themselves. Here is an example from a grade 3 student.

Weather

White, squishy clouds

Into the Winter storm.

Trees swaying through the breeze,

Autumn coming to Winter.

Sadly Autumn is over,

The Winter is cold.

The time has all gone.
