This week in our grade 3/4 classes, students have started investigating fractions. Over the past two lessons, they have used a number of materials to display fractions as parts of a whole. Students firstly created a 'fraction museum' where they used materials to represent fractions, and walked through the 'museum' trying to determine the fractions represented by their peers. Students then worked on determining the parts within a whole, and some have started converting their fractions to decimals.
