Brain Breaks

Our grade 5/6 students have been working so hard they needed a break to rest and recuperate! In all seriousness they were enjoying a game of Dead Fish as a short brain break after reading and before starting writing. Research clearly shows that brain breaks increase academic achievement, help with concentration, boost on-task behaviour and improve student attitudes. Walking around our school you will notice that every classroom is using brain breaks, it could be dancing, running, playing a game, meditating or even a game of silent ball. We think brain breaks are an essential part of our learning timetable and the kids love it.
